Hi, I’m Ruth, the creative force behind The Ruthie Edit. I’m thrilled to connect with you from my beautiful home in Colorado, where I live with my husband, Andy, and our three beloved pets – Nori the black cat, Apollo the Siberian husky, and Dingo the mutt mix. Our lively household is a constant source of inspiration and joy, and I can’t wait to share my experiences and insights with you.
By day, I work as a dedicated public health nurse, but I started The Ruthie Edit to explore and write about the many things I’m passionate about. On my blog, you’ll find a variety of content, including personal experiences, organization and productivity tips, cherished recipes, DIY projects, home decor inspiration, and fashion advice.
Born in a refugee camp in Thailand and I was raised in Canada by my loving parents and older brother, I’m a proud first-generation Cambodian immigrant. Growing up, I developed a deep appreciation for Cambodian cuisine and culture, which continues to shape my life today.
My desire for a career change led me to pursue nursing in Boston, where I spent nearly a decade exploring the stunning natural landscapes of New England. It was during this time that my love for the outdoors, hiking, and winter sports truly blossomed. I’m excited to share these experiences, along with my other passions, through The Ruthie Edit.
After Andy and I started dating, we soon found ourselves living together and tackling various home improvement projects side by side. Through our combined efforts, we managed to sell two properties with the majority of the work done by ourselves—a true testament to our teamwork and dedication.
Due to changes in Andy’s job, we eventually found ourselves relocating to Colorado. Although the move was unplanned, we couldn’t be happier with our new home and officially became Colorado residents in the fall of 2023. We’re grateful for the opportunities and adventures that this beautiful state has to offer and can’t wait to continue exploring all that Colorado has in store for us.
Since our move to Colorado, we’ve been thoroughly enjoying the beautiful climate and the abundance of outdoor activities this state offers. We’ve also purchased a suburban home, which we’re eager to personalize and transform into a space that truly reflects our style and passions. As a relative newcomer to the world of DIY, I welcome you to follow along as I continue to learn and grow in this exciting realm.
